A Message from the Campaign Chair

My guess is that you’re reading this message for the same reason I’m writing it.

We’re both Penn State supporters who believe it’s our responsibility to invest in the University’s future. As chair of the Campaign Leadership Council, I have the honor of working alongside hundreds of other volunteers who share this faith in the Penn State yet to come—an institution even more impactful as a force for good in the Commonwealth and the world.

I want to offer my personal thanks for your support, whether given in 2023–24 or in the past. It’s helped Penn State become one of the top universities in the world. Your gifts make a difference in another important way—setting a powerful example for new donors in the campaign ahead.

I wouldn’t be in this role now if it weren’t for role models of generosity in my own life. My parents, Phil and Judy Sieg, were passionate supporters of the University, and that’s why my brother Doug and I chose to honor them this year with a gift to name the Phil and Judy Sieg Terrace at the new Palmer Museum of Art, which opened in June. One of my most important mentors, Bill Schreyer, demonstrated remarkable philanthropic leadership with the gift that he and his wife, Joan, made to establish the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State.

They and so many other dedicated, generous Penn Staters continue to inspire me, just as your giving will inspire the success of the new campaign. For those who have made commitments or are considering them, thank you! You’re showing all of us the way forward!
