A Message from the President

Every year, the generosity and leadership of the Penn State community continues to amaze me. This annual report is a chance for us to share with you, our most dedicated supporters, the incredible success of our University’s fundraising efforts from the past year, as well as how your generosity continues to fuel our accomplishments through the performance of our endowed funds.

There is one number in particular I want to call out and celebrate: 231,215. That is how many donors have stepped forward with gifts this year. This figure reflects gifts from our alumni, fans, citizens of our Commonwealth, corporate leaders, and supporters of every kind, at every level.

That is a truly breathtaking number. It reflects how much and how profoundly Penn Staters care about this institution, each other, and our shared future. This year’s report goes deep into some of the remarkable commitments that our donors have made to the University and how that support is making a difference—from changing the lives of individual students to advancing discoveries that will change the world.

We are also highlighting some of the biggest gifts made thus far to our new fundraising campaign, which began quietly last July and whose impact will reverberate for many decades to come. You’ll be learning more about this effort in the coming months, but donors are already leading the way in helping us achieve an inspiring future for Penn State: one that is grounded in my vision of purpose, agility, and opportunity.

Together, we will strengthen academic excellence and personal resilience, while nurturing lifelong success among our students. We will drive the economic strength and well-being of the communities, regions, country, and global society that we serve so well. And we will affirm Penn State’s continued role as a higher education leader, one that sets the standard for our peers across the nation.

Together, We Are…Penn State.

Thank you,
